Beanair’s WILOW AX-3D Sensor

Beanair’s WILOW AX-3D sensor is a highly advanced, ultra-low-power (ULP) wireless IoT vibration sensor designed to meet the demands of ground vibration monitoring. This compact yet rugged sensor ULP Wi-Fi technology (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) allows seamless integration with existing Wi-Fi infrastructure and reduces the overall cost and complexity of deployment. It offers exceptional connectivity with a robust “store and forward” feature that ensures lossless data transmission even during network disruptions by retransmitting lost messages in subsequent cycles.

Measurement Principle

The Beanair WILOW AX-3D vibration sensor uses a MEMS-based triaxial accelerometer to measure vibrations along three orthogonal axes. A micro-scale proof mass within the MEMS sensing element responds to motion and vibration, producing changes in capacitance that are converted into electrical signals proportional to the applied acceleration. These signals are processed to determine vibration characteristics such as acceleration, displacement, and peak particle velocity (PPV), enabling accurate real-time vibration monitoring.
