Sulfur dioxide (SO₂) is generally measured using ultraviolet fluorescence, and ozone (O₃) is measured using ultraviolet photometry, which determines how much ultraviolet light the molecule absorbs. Additionally, carbon monoxide (CO) is most commonly measured using the NDIR absorption method, which detects CO’s infrared absorption at specific wavelengths.
