Problem
Granada is a “university city”, with 5 of its campuses spread across the city in Spain. It accommodates 240,000 people, out of which 65000 are university students and staff. Also, it provides the highest quality of lifestyle to its people among other cities in Spain.
To continue with its objective, the university wanted to create awareness among the people regarding the ambient environment within the campus. Hence, this needs air quality monitoring and displaying the information publicly. Also, Ambient air quality monitoring requires sufficient data for a comprehensive analysis.
Offered Solution
Oizom helped Cisco in providing infrastructure for Air Quality Monitoring at Granada University Campus, Spain. So, Oizom deployed an Online Air Quality Monitoring Instrument on the Campus to measure PM2.5, PM10, CO2, CO, SO2, NO2, O3, Temperature, Humidity, Noise pollution, Light intensity, and UV Radiation.
The Polludrone air pollution monitoring instrument allows real-time air quality data collection and analysis for providing online environmental information. Air quality information (AQI with pollutant concentration) is displayed across the university for public awareness. The residents can track the ambient quality daily for improving their lifestyles as per the environment. Trend analysis of these parameters enables better understanding and predictive and comparative capabilities.
Impact
With the Polludrone Air quality monitoring instrument installed on the campus, the common people can access the environment data, which is crucial nowadays for a better and healthy life. Hence, the residents at the university now know how to mold their daily activities as per their ambient environment. This empowers the community as a whole.
