Galena Park is a city in Harris County, Texas, part of the expansive Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. It has a rich history with refineries. The town itself was named after a refinery company, the Galena Signal Oil Company of Texas, which built the first refinery there. Currently, there are significant terminal facilities that store and handle various products, including refined petroleum products, crude oil, and blend stocks.

Handling and storing refined petroleum products and crude oil were contributing to polluting the city's environment. Recognizing the potential health risks posed by their industrial neighbors, Galena Park required an efficient solution to monitor and manage air quality. Their primary concern was the safety and well-being of its residents. They required a reliable, easy-to-install solution that could withstand humid subtropical climates and provide accurate data. The situation demanded real-time monitoring capabilities to enable immediate action when necessary.

With our partner Inteccon, we offered them Oizom’s Polludrone with the required customizations for their air quality monitoring requirements. Their decision to choose Oizom was influenced by the positive experiences of other municipalities and industrial sites using Oizom's solutions. Four devices were strategically installed around the city to provide comprehensive data. Polludrone offers higher data accuracy and real-time environment monitoring, covering all essential air quality parameters like Particulate matter of various sizes, CO2, CO, SO2, NO, NO2, 03, and H2S.

With Oizom, they got a reliable environment monitoring solution that ensures thorough monitoring without compromising the accuracy of the data. The real-time data transfer feature was crucial for enabling quick responses to any air quality concerns.

Since installing the Polludrone devices, Galena Park's feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Using our software Envizom, they get a data analytics feature with smart alerts, automated reports, and display to monitor the city's air quality effectively. It also helps them with real-time monitoring of all the essential parameters with wind speed/direction and rainfall. It also eases the process of real-time data transfer, allowing city officials to respond promptly to air quality issues.
