Our Client
Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation monitored the city’s environmental health by installing Oizom Polludrone – Online Pollution Monitoring System. In addition to Air Quality monitoring, the Polludrone also monitored the Rain Levels to complement the weather stations. Hence, the real-time data disperses to the mass audience through visual messaging displays for suggestive actions.
The Challenge
Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat, has undertaken a number of projects as a part of its Smart City Mission. So, some of its agendas are the implementation of an intelligent traffic management system, smart poles, solid waste management, etc., with the main focus on sustainable development. Sustainable development of a city requires control of pollution and waste production, which is achievable by monitoring the current environmental condition to take corrective and preventive steps towards its betterment. Real-time outdoor air pollution monitoring is of utmost importance to analyze the environmental parameters based on historical data and trend analysis. Hence, Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) aims to constrain the negative impact of pollution on the city using advanced technology.
The Solution
Oizom was more than happy to help GMC as the city’s agenda matches our goal. So, our team installed a customized air pollution monitoring system – Polludrone to study the pollution trend in the city. An ambient air monitoring nexus is present throughout the city by strategically installing the equipment. The solution monitored and analyzed particulate matters PM2.5, PM10, and gases SO2, NO2, CO, CO2, O3, and O2. Also, Polludrone is capable of monitoring environmental data in dynamic weather conditions. For that, environmental parameters like temperature, humidity, noise, light intensity, UV radiations, and rain. The Polludrone Online Pollution Monitoring System comes with integrated sensors and air quality software. The data gathered from all the equipment is sent to our central server through the cloud platform for analytics. After complete data analysis, the result is shared with the authorities on their Command and Control Centre.
The Result
After installing the Polludrone – Online Pollution Monitoring System across the city, the authorities can visualize the environmental behavior of the city. The ill effects of pollutants in ambient air on health can be measure through data. This helped in taking data-driven actions to mitigate pollution at highly risk-prone areas like Akshardham Temple, Adalaj ni Vaav and other heritage sites along with State Govt. Buildings.
