Definition
Data Quality Objectives (DQOs) are quantitative and qualitative criteria established to determine the type, quality, quantity, and reliability of data required for a specific monitoring or assessment objective. DQOs define the level of data quality needed to support intended decisions and ensure that data collection efforts are appropriate for their ultimate use. They help guide monitoring design, sampling methods, measurement frequency, quality assurance, and data evaluation while ensuring that the resulting data are fit for purpose.
