Definition

R², or the coefficient of determination, is a statistical measure used to evaluate how well the measurements from a sensor correspond to the measurements from a reference instrument in a linear relationship. It indicates the proportion of variation in the reference measurements that the sensor measurements can explain. An R² value closer to 1 indicates a stronger linear relationship, while a value closer to 0 indicates a weaker linear relationship.
