Msheireb Downtown is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. It is revered for its sustainable tourism approach toward accomplishing the Qatar National Vision 2030. It displays the dynamic relationship between tourism and cultural heritage with sustainable and clean energy. It holds a chain of establishments of museums, residences, and retail stores.
The Challenge
Thousands of people reside and travel to the Msheireb Downtown area every day. Qatar currently ranks number two among countries with the highest CO2 Emissions per Capita. In order to fulfil the ambitious Qatar National Vision 2030, it was necessary to have a smart, accurate, and user-friendly Air quality monitoring system. Ensuring clean air to the residents and tourists was optimum for achieving their vision. They wanted to offer residents and visitors an option to be informed about the air quality in public displays and elevators as well. This meant that they needed cloud integration options that can process and transfer data to the public displays across the downtown.
The Solution
Oizom offered 5 units of Polludrone to the Msheireb Downtown establishment to monitor air pollutants, noise, dust and other harmful gases. Polludrone comes equipped with a wide range of connectivity options like WiFi, LoRa, ethernet, and other means for sharing the data. Data can be pushed through APIs and further integrated with public LED displays & showcased in elevators as well. Polludrone is a robust air quality monitoring system that can withstand any harsh weather conditions in the city. Even in case of loss in network connectivity, the performance of the device will not be compromised as the data stored in the internal memory can be retrieved later.
The Result
Having Air Quality monitoring systems installed across the Msheireb’s downtown has helped build traction to its success story towards sustainability and clean environment. Residents and visitors of the downtown can now read the air quality in public areas like malls, street displays, retail stores, and even elevators.
