FRM
Definition
A method of sampling and analyzing the ambient air for an air pollutant that is specified as a reference method in 40 CFR Part 50, or a method that has been designated as a reference method in accordance with 40 CFR Part 53. An FRM does not include a method for which the U.S. EPA has canceled a reference method designation in accordance with 40 CFR Parts 53.11 or 53.16.
Definition and Description
A Federal Reference Method (FRM) is an established procedure for collecting and analyzing samples of outdoor air to measure a specific air pollutant. This method is officially recognized as a reference standard in 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 50. Importantly, an FRM does not encompass methods for which the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has revoked the reference method designation as outlined in 40 CFR Parts 53.11 or 53.16.
