Siting
Definition
Siting refers to the process of selecting and evaluating an appropriate location for installing an air quality sensor or monitoring instrument to ensure that it collects representative and reliable data for its intended purpose. Siting considerations may include the general monitoring location, sensor placement, security, accessibility, power availability, communication connectivity, and protection from environmental or physical interference. Proper siting also involves documenting the installation location and conditions, often through photographs and site records, to support effective monitoring and data interpretation.
