Span Calibration
Definition
Span calibration is a calibration procedure used to verify and adjust the response of an air quality sensor or monitoring instrument by exposing it to a known concentration of a target gas. The instrument’s measured response is compared with the known concentration to determine whether it is operating within the expected range and to correct any deviation in its response. Span calibration helps ensure that measurements remain accurate and consistent over time.
