Vibration Sensor Module
Beanair’s WILOW AX-3D Sensor
Beanair’s WILOW AX-3D sensor is a highly advanced, ultra-low-power (ULP) wireless IoT vibration sensor designed to meet the demands of ground vibration monitoring. This compact yet rugged sensor ULP Wi-Fi technology (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) allows seamless integration with existing Wi-Fi infrastructure and reduces the overall cost and complexity of deployment. It offers exceptional connectivity with a robust “store and forward” feature that ensures lossless data transmission even during network disruptions by retransmitting lost messages in subsequent cycles.
The WILOW AX-3D sensor is equipped with a high-precision accelerometer available in two measurement ranges: ±2g and ±10g. This versatility supports advanced vibration analysis, peak particle velocity (PPV) calculation, and displacement measurement. With a sampling rate of up to 2 kSPS per axis, the sensor delivers precise and reliable data critical for dynamic monitoring. Its MEMS-based accelerometer ensures sensitivity, low noise spectral density, and a robust frequency response of up to 800 Hz.
The sensor is designed for rugged and challenging environments, featuring an aluminum casing, shock resistance of 100g during 50 ms, and an operational temperature range from -40°C to +65°C. This ensures durability and performance under extreme conditions. Its embedded data logger can store up to 5 million data points, and data downloads via Wi-Fi can be completed in an average of three minutes.
It supports multiple power options, including an internal 900mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, USB power supply (5V), or an auxiliary external power source compatible with solar energy harvesting (8-24VDC). This flexibility makes the sensor suitable for diverse deployment scenarios, including remote and off-grid installations. The sensor is also designed to integrate seamlessly into IoT ecosystems with MQTT protocol support, enabling efficient data exchange and remote monitoring.
The sensor’s excellent connectivity is further enhanced by its dual omnidirectional antennas and optional Wi-Fi bridges or repeaters to extend range beyond its standard 200 meters (line of sight).
The sensor is backed by a factory calibration process for prolonged accuracy. Paired with Envizom software, the sensor provides enhanced analysis tools such as configurable FFT parameters, automatic FFT reports, and email-based alarm notifications. Its real-time capabilities and reliable performance make it an indispensable tool for engineers, researchers, and industries looking for comprehensive and precise vibration monitoring solutions.
